M.A (Double), M.Ed, Ph.D. (Education) is a renounced teacher educator in our country having 32 years of teaching experience out of which 20 years as a professor of Education in various central Universities in India such as Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal; North Eastern Hill University, Silong, and Assam Central University, Silchar. He was Dean, School of Education for 10 years, and also the head of the department for 8 years in the Department of Education at Assam University. He was a research scholar at the Centre of Advanced Study in Education (CASE), M.S University of Baroda. He has wide experience in conducting research and training also. Dr. Biswas has a good number of research publications (about 120) in the leading national and international journals to his credit and also has published eight books in his credit. Dr. Biswas has supervised more than 76 Ph.D. Research Scholars in Education. He remains in close association with Institution of National Importance like CASE, NCTE, NIPEA, NCERT, etc. His major field of studies are Teacher Education, Philosophy of Education, and Curriculum Studies. Through his academic performance, Dr. Biswas was an associate fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla.

            Besides his contribution to his field, Dr. N. B. Biswas is actively engaged in interdisciplinary academic programs, research, and teaching. He is a lifetime Associate of the National Institute of Advanced Study. II Sc. Complex, Bangalore. Dr. Biswas is a member of many academic committees like the University Planning Board, Under Graduate and Post Graduate Board of Studies. He is also a member of many National and International Academic and Professional Association. He was conferred upon the Distinguished Leadership Award for his outstanding contribution to Contemporary Society by the International Biographical Institute, USA. Dr. Biswas had been performing his duties as the Proctor of Assam Central University, Silchar in addition to his academic assignment.
